Um, after reading through a few articles on this, I don't really understand the actual details of the "trauma" she suffered. I'm not saying it wasn't real for her and don't want to minimize someone else's pain, but to me what I read sounded fairly vague. Maybe I read the wrong articles...

Anyway, I doubt it was worse than what most of us have gone through with the JWs. At least her experience was over relatively quickly compared to many of us. My experience lasted decades and yet I don't count myself as "psychologically traumatized" at all. I actually feel quite normal and consider myself reasonably well-adjusted.

I'm wondering if perhaps her Hollywood lifestyle exacerbated whatever trauma she experienced. Immersing myself into THAT culture and lifestyle would most certainly traumatize me.

Good video. I posted on another thread why I don't watch much of what Hollywood doles out anymore, but I never really thought it through at the level this video dives into. Well done.

It is actually kind of amusing to watch how Hollywood is slowly destroying itself in this way.

And the recent Golden Globes self-cancellation comes to mind as well.

The Fly (1986) - David Cronenberg's masterpiece

i first saw this film when i was 11. i'm not gonna lie, the prosthetic make up on jeff goldblum used when he was becoming a fly/man mashup kinda scared me.. it's a film that i own and have seen many times.

out of all the cronenberg films i've seen, this one definitely stands out for me.

i think it's cronenberg's masterpiece.. the plot is as follows: scientist seth brundle is trying to make teleportation possible, and meets a female journalist (ronnie quaife) who is keen to get the scoop.

For body horror movies, Cronenberg's The Fly is definitely up there with the best of them.

My favorite is John Carpenter's The Thing. That seminal movie came years before The Fly and the non-CGI effects hold up to this day.

Hollywood doesn't make 'em like that anymore.

"Non first hand" we heard from a friend of a friend of a friend that a JW Elder's wife bought clothes at a garage sale and "got demonized" when she put them on.

Don't recall exactly what "got demonized" meant, but it sounded terrifying. It did not stop my mother from shopping at garage sales and thrift stores, however. I guess she just took her chances.

By the way, where in the Bible does it ever say, or even imply, that an inanimate object could be possessed? Sure, people or even animals are examples, but clothes? How about scrolls (or books)? Anything like that? How could a Smurf doll "get demonized" if that concept is not supported in the Bible?

Just asking.

Chipotle, along with many American businesses these days, are just trying to actually hire people to work for them. The key word there is "work." You know, the thing the Biden administration and their cronies are paying people NOT to do?

Gee, I wonder what happens if we just give away everything to the entitled and lazy for free, take away or reduce taxes on non-producers, allow mobs to burn and destroy businesses, and then demonize those who actually want to produce and protect the hard-earned assets that actually DRIVE our economy?

A free market means businesses should compete with each other, NOT with the government.

If that’s the truth then there are many, many people in positions of authority who have much to answer for.

Much to answer for? In what way? When you have the lead liar, Dr. Anthony Fauci, admit he lies and nobody gives a rat's patootie, then who will actually answer for anything? There are people on this site who regularly read and post that want to still argue for all the nonsense and lies that have been told to us by him and people like him, who defend and equivocate these lies, so then what? They say "where is the proof?" But the proof of his lies comes right out of his own mouth as he admits he lied, so what more needs to be said? What kind of accountability is there when so many go the same way and enable these lying manipulators? We expect lies coming from our government leaders. But we should NOT expect it coming from the medical community, especially from someone who has taken the Hippocratic Oath.

It is clear that most people just don't care that they are being lied to and manipulated. Either that, or they just don't have the strength to fight it, so they just lay down like sheep to the slaughter.

If Fauci actually ADMITS he lied to us about these things, then what else has he lied to us about that he has not been caught at yet? Sure he says he did it for "our own good" but should we believe a liar's explanation given when they are caught lying? Most serial liars will lie to cover up the other lies. Once you start down the path of manipulation and lies, there is no end to it and that person simply cannot be trusted.

Yet, there he is, still actually LEADING the media and government in all this.

Why the regular person on the street actually listens to this man at all is beyond me. I can see why the government and media like him: it serves their agenda. But WE regular folk should absolutely hold these people accountable and call them out, just like I am doing now.

Why is this not easily apparent to absolutely every single person with a mind of their own, basic observation capabilities and simple thinking ability? I have already ranted on this site many times about this subject and I have ranted about this to my family and trusted close friends as well. It was all I could do to get people to think for themselves rather than follow our corrupt and/or stupid government leaders (mostly the Lefty politicians, but certainly with a weak response from the Right) corrupt scientists and medical professionals (Dr. Fauci, anyone?) and corrupt media (CNN, MSNBC, New York Times, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

It was a pleasure to listen to him verify every single one of my suspicions about this COVID 19 nonsense we have all been going through, and even bring up things I had not considered. My favorite quote: "COVID is slightly worse than the flu (but not by much) for those who are elderly or sick, but much less risky than the flu for those who are young and fit." THANK YOU DOCTOR! This is what I have been saying for about a year now, while anyone who listened looked at me like I had two heads.

Please people, download this video and email or text it to all the people you care about. Don't just point to it on the website; the corrupt powers that be could disappear it at any time. Corrupt media could help.

We need to have copies of this video to debunk the outrageous way our society has been duped and hijacked.

Over the years I built an indifference towards Hollywood and the product it produces. I can't remember the last time I paid to sit in a movie theater at all, and it was long before COVID forced the issue. I suppose it was for a number of reasons:

Hollywood seemed to focus on comic book or cartoon characters, or they were played in such a way that they might as well have been.

Hollywood seemed to use the same dratted actors over and over and over again and with each movie their characters began to blur and bleed into one another until every new movie I subjected myself to was faintly familiar and seemed to me one that I had already watched.

Hollywood seemed to be stuck in the sequel / prequel / trilogy / rinse/repeat mindset, over and over and freaking over again. How many "Fast and Furiously Furious" / "Mission Impossible to Watch" / "Die Hardest in your movie seat" type of movies will people subject themselves to? I say "yawwwwwwn."

Hollywood began to slowly inject their sense of morality, politics and other issues into everything and more often than not it took me right out of the movie itself because it was so noticeable.

Hollywood actors and directors took to the TV set to continue to preach at us their sense of morality and politics as well. If they said something I found particularly disdainful, it was difficult for me to want to pay to see a movie by them. Remember Sean Penn, Oliver Stone and Michael Moore in full on worship mode over Hugo Chavez? Yes, the same man who brought you the United Socialist Party to Venezuela and is now credited with absolutely ruining that country. At the time I absolutely cringed while watching these Leftist dummies praise that man, and I knew it would turn out badly for those poor souls in Venezuela. There were others just like that, for example Meryl Streep calling Harvey Weinstein "god" at one point. Hearing Whoopi Goldberg say that Roman Polanski was not guilty of quote "rape-rape" unquote... (Um, well, he allegedly DRUGGED the underage girl before raping her, so yeah, that is "rape-rape" Whoopi - Bill Cosby style actually. Her age notwithstanding. But I guess we will never know how the trial would have gone since he fled the country to avoid it.) So yes, I know I should have been a bigger person than that and tried to over look their idiocy, but I just could not help it. I could not watch their stuff any more after that.

And of course, I stopped watching the long, drawn out, self-congratulating, self-abuse-fest called the Oscars way before that.

After awhile, there was just less and less things Hollywood made that I could even stomach, and that unfortunately included much of the network TV.

In time I discovered cable TV channels (like HBO) which were much more interesting. And now that I have Netflix I can see non-Hollywood entertainment that is truly diverse, from countries all around the world, with actors I have never seen before, and best yet, stories that are innovative rather than derivative pablum.
